Feature Teacher - Carol McGrath

Carol has been singing and performing for the last 25 years, and has recently moved to Newcastle from Central West NSW.  Carol commenced singing at High School where she performed solo, as well as in a folk group which competed in regional eistedfodds with great success.  Carol also performed at Sydney Town Hall and Opera House as part of the combined schools concerts.

After leaving school, Carol joined her first band at the age of 17 and travelled the central west of NSW performing in pubs, clubs, functions, weddings, and performed at numerous B&S balls in remote locations over many years.

Carol continued performing in rock bands until the age of 35.  She has also performed in a theatre production "Leader of the Pack", and performed in an acoustic duo with guitarist and friend Matt Ferry (now performing in The Southern Green), performing in restaurants, wine bars, and at business functions.

Carol also has recording experience, having recorded an album with local and Sydney musicians to raise money for Ronald McDonald House in Orange. The album, "Slightly out of focus" was written and produced by Rob Bartlett and was successful in contributing greatly to the local charity organisation.

Carol is looking forward to working with both children and adults to introduce them to better vocal techniques so that they too can enjoy singing, performance and music from all genres.
